The new headquarters of Porsche China achieves WELL Certification at the Gold levelEnsuring the health of employees
Shanghai/Stuttgart. Porsche China announced today that it has been awarded WELL Certification at the Gold level for its new headquarters in Shanghai by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). The prestigious distinction was awarded through IWBI’s WELL Building Standard (WELL), which is the premier building standard to focus on enhancing people’s health and wellness through the buildings where we live, work and play. At the presentation ceremony of WELL Certification, Ms. Xue Ya, the President of IWBI Asia, awarded Porsche China a medal of WELL Certified Gold. It should be noted that the new office space of Porsche China is the first ever property of Porsche worldwide which has achieved the WELL Certification at the Gold level.
In last May, Porsche China officially relocated its Shanghai headquarters and its multiple subsidiaries to the prestigious Lujiazui Financial Plaza. The new office is located on the 12th to 17th floors of Office Tower 3, Shanghai Lujiazui Financial Plaza, covering an area of approximately 12,000 square meters. It is designed with a philosophy known as S.P.A.C.E, which stands for: Smart, Passionate, Attractive, Collaborative, and Engaging. It combines new technology and digital upgrades with tailored services for a holistic long-term outlook, aimed at realising the full potential and creativity of Porsche China’s workforce.
“We are very honored to be awarded WELL Certified Gold, and are also glad to see this revolutionary new office space as a fitting home for Porsche China and a truly worthy workspace for our staff,” said Dr. -Ing Jens Puttfarcken, President and CEO of Porsche China. “The acquisition of WELL Certification at the gold level proves the highest emphasis we have placed on everyone’s wellbeing. I believe this optimal working environment will help promote our efficient, seamless communication and collaboration on all levels.”
Created through seven years of rigorous research and development working with leading physicians, scientists, and industry professionals, WELL was offcially launched in October 2014. It is a performance-based certification system that marries best practices in design and construction with evidence-based scientific research. The new headquarters of Porsche China has earned the distinction based on seven categories of building performance — Air, Water, Light, Nourishment, Fitness, Comfort and Mind —and achieved a gold level rating.
