Blending history and tradition – the Grand Opening of Porsche Centre YangzhouPorsche solidifies presence throughout Eastern China

Shanghai/Yangzhou/Stuttgart. After a period of extensive preparation, Porsche has finally arrived in Yangzhou with the opening of the first Porsche Centre in the city on 3 December, 2019. The Porsche Centre Yangzhou is located at No.1111, Yangtze Jiang River North Road, Hanjiang District, Yangzhou, Jiangsu Porvince. The establishment of this new centre strengthens the Porsche dealer network throughout the Eastern China region, providing customers in Yangzhou City and the entirety of Jiangsu Province with easier access to Porsche’s services. Mr. David Xiao, Chief Operating Officer of Porsche China; Ms. Grace Xi, Director Region Central of Porsche China; Mr. David Szu, representative of Investors & General Manager of Porsche for Shanghai Bowdex Group; along with many other guests and members of the media were onsite to witness this memorable moment together and catch a first glimpse of the latest state-of-the-art technology on offer.

“Since entering the Chinese market in 2001, Porsche has continued to excel in terms of branding, products, dealer networks and customer services. By the end of October, we have delivered more than 70,000 vehicles from 121 sales points,” Said Mr. David Xiao, Chief Operating Officer of Porsche China, “Besides the steady-growth of the dealer network layout and our ever-expanding sports car line-up, Porsche is committed to providing exclusive brand experiences and services to further satisfy the diverse consumer needs of Chinese customers.”

With investment from Shanghai Bowdex Group – the centre in Yangzhou being the fourth Bowdex Group Porsche Center in Jiangsu – the Porsche Centre Yangzhou has been built to Porsche's global standards and is committed to providing fascinating products and bespoke experiences to its customers. It is spread across 670 square metres and includes a state-of-the-art showroom that is capable of simultaneously displaying five Porsche sports cars. Meanwhile, the luxury customer lounge, VIP room and entertainment area all ensure premium customer service for every Porsche enthusiast with comprehensive services, while helping them to choose and customise their dream Porsche sports car.

Mr. David Szu, representative of Investors & General Manager of Porsche for Shanghai Bowdex Group, said at the opening ceremony that, "As a key partner of Porsche China in the Eastern China region, we are full of confidence in promoting the Porsche brand in Yangzhou, which holds a profound historical heritage and today plays the role of a transportation hub. Located in the central part of Jiangsu province, where th Yangtze River intersects with the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Yangzhou has been an important transportation hub since ancient times and is a place of economic and cultural prosperity, becoming a world heritage city, a famous national historical and cultural city, and an exemplar of rice and fish food customs. In addition, Yangzhou is an important part of the economic belt of Jiangsu and the Yangtze River Delta City Cluster, as well as a region that Porsche has aways paid close attention to. Adhering to the customer-centered concept, the new Porsche Centre will provide professional technology and high-level services for local customers, while conveying the cultural connotations of Porsche's constant innovation and pursuit of excellence.

The 17th Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition was held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex from November 22 to December 1. Porsche presented its full model line-up showcasing three distinct drive technologies, demonstrating its three-pronged product strategy. The exhibition also saw the Porsche Taycan make its Chinese auto show debut. The four-door sports saloon is a unique package offering typical Porsche performance, connectivity and comprehensive everyday usability. At the same time, highly advanced production methods and the production features of the Taycan are setting new standards in the fields of sustainability and digitalisation. It is the pinnacle of Porsche‘s electrification developments so far, both on the road and the racetrack. In terms of power, it enables consistently high performance and faster charging. Meanwhile, the intelligent thermal management system ensures ideal energy efficiency. In addition, the Taycan possesses outstanding aerodynamics design, enabling lower energy consumption and thus an impressively long range. The Taycan’s interiors are made from innovative recycled materials which underscores the sustainable concept of this electric sports car. More connected technology services have further enhanced everyday practicality. At the same time, the Taycan retains the unmistakable Porsche design DNA.

Three variants of the Taycan are now available to order in China, including the flagship Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo, and also a third member of the Taycan family, the Taycan 4S which launched in the last month. The Taycan 4S is available with two battery sizes: The Performance Battery as standard, and the Performance Battery Plus – familiar to users from the flagship models – which is optionally available.
