Porsche (China) Motors Limited to recall part of imported 2017-2018 Panamera and 2019 Cayenne cars

Commencing from February 28, 2019, Porsche (China) Motors Limited (hereinafter, “Porsche China”) will recall part of imported 2017-2018 Panamera and 2019 Cayenne cars manufactured from March 21, 2017 to June 27, 2018. The recall was filed by Porsche China to the State Administration for Market Regulation and will affect a total of 34,290 vehicles in China’s mainland.

The recall is related to a potential issue that due to a missing assignment within the instrument cluster’s software, the yellow brake wear warning light is not illuminated continuously when the brake pads are worn out. If customers use the vehicle with worn out brake pads, it might lead to a higher risk of a crash in certain traffic conditions.

Upon the recall taking effect, Porsche China will commission all authorized service centers nationwide to update the software of instrument cluster free of charge for all vehicles affected by the potential issue.

Porsche China will notify the relevant owners via registered mail, phone call, text message, etc. Affected users are encouraged to visit Porsche China's official website http://www.porsche.com/china or call the toll-free customer service centre hotline on 400 820 5911 or Porsche authorized dealers to find out more information about this recall.
