This is revealed by distinguishing features, such as the heavily emphasised front wings, long, sloping bonnet with its power dome and the characteristic three-piece air intakes, which are even larger and more dominant.

Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid - Exterior

Exterior

The front apron is new and powerfully styled – even when stationary, it alludes to the sheer strength of performance packed within. The LED main headlights have an optional LED matrix beam.

At the side, the sharpened lines of the roof descend sleekly all the way back to the roof spoiler. There are also newly styled doors and new, up to 22-inch wheels with – for the first time on the Cayenne – mixed tyres with up to 315 mm at the rear axle. These are all extra details that enhance the overall sporty impression.

The rear has been completely redesigned. Attention is directly drawn to the striking light strip, extending over the entire rear and elegantly emphasising the presence of the Cayenne. The taillights use state-of-the-art, precise LED technology and replicate the design concept of the headlights. Their individual lighting components are recognisable as three-dimensional elements. Another highlight of the vehicle design.

The E-Hybrid also features the "E­-Hybrid" model designation on the left and right wings, as well as on the tailgate. Additional distinguishing features are the brake calipers in Acid Green.

Overall, the Cayenne has broader shoulders compared to the predecessor generation – making it more muscular, more athletic and more dynamic.

Interior

Exquisite, sporty, ergonomic. Not least thanks to the flat, broad dashboard and ascending centre console for swift hand movements from the multifunction Sports steering wheel to the gear selector.

Our origins are in motorsport. This is where we learned how important it is to bring vehicle and driver as close together as possible. The interior is practically built around the driver. And is completely driver-centric as a result.

The same applies to the seats: sporty with a capital ‘S’. And also applies to the newly designed rear seats, each of which also triggers motorsport emotions. Without having to sacrifice comfort.

New in all Cayenne models: the Porsche Advanced Cockpit control concept. The centre console with Direct Touch Control has a surface in glass look featuring touch-sensitive buttons for direct access to the most important functions. In between: the compact gear selector. Above the centre console is Porsche Communication Management (PCM), which features a full-HD 12-inch touchscreen display and includes an online navigation module for intuitive operation. Behind the multifunction Sports steering wheel is the instrument cluster. To the right and left of the typical Porsche analogue rev counter – with classic needle design – are two high-resolution display screens that display virtual instruments, maps and other information as required.

Available as an option, the coloured ambient lighting – new in the Cayenne – enriches the interior with precisely targeted lighting accents. You can choose from a variety of colour schemes for any mood and also alter the light intensity.

All models boast typical Cayenne strengths: spaciousness, great versatility and an array of carefully selected materials. Exactly what you desire, as there are also numerous personalisation options.

The 3.0­ litre turbocharged V6 engine produces 250 kW (340 hp), gradually delivering power and torque as it picks up speed. The maximum torque of the 10 0kW (136 hp) electric motor is immediately available, however. The result: an enormous total system torque of 700 Nm. Pure sports car performance.

The Cayenne E-­Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 5.0 seconds, with a top speed of 253 km/h. And fuel consumption of just TBA l/100km.

Its all-electric range of 23 km to 44 km theoretically allows you to complete an entire working day in the city without using the combustion engine – with a top speed of up to 135 km/h.

A new mobility concept is only innovative if it does not end with the vehicle. Porsche E-Performance therefore includes the infrastructure: an optimally integrated vehicle charge port, practical charging equipment and intelligent charging options, to use at home and on the road.

Charging at home

To charge your Porsche at home, we recommend installing an industrial electrical outlet. A practical wall mount for the Porsche Universal Charger (AC) comes as standard with your E-Hybrid model.

If wall mounting is not possible or you want a charging station for your carport, for example, the optional charging pedestal is available.

The standard Porsche Universal Charger (AC) securely connects your Porsche to various sockets. After plugging in the vehicle charge port, the car automatically recognises the charger plug and is locked, to prevent it being driven away. The charging process starts immediately. If you have entered a time at which the battery should be charged in the instrument cluster, the charging process will begin later, thereby allowing you to take advantage of cheap off-peak tariffs.

There are public charging pedestals in many cities, which you can use for your Porsche E-Hybrid model. The optional charging cable (mode 3) is available for this.

Alternatively, you can charge your car at suitable power outlets using the Porsche Universal Charger (AC), e.g. while at work. Porsche offers special mains adapters for this that are easy to change.

If you are intending to charge your sports car abroad, you can request a suitable power cable – available for all standard sockets worldwide. And use Porsche Connect to conveniently find charging stations in your vicinity, at the roadside or at your destination.

Adaptive air suspension

Adaptive air suspension enhances both driving dynamics and comfort. The use of three-chamber technology makes it possible to enjoy an even better combination of comfort and sportiness, because the spring rate is adjusted to suit the driving mode and situation. The air suspension also features a self-levelling function for a constant vehicle position, PASM and ride-height adjustment – so that you can actively vary the ground clearance as required.

A new benchmark in performance and design – the Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB).

The innovation behind this brake is the unique combination of a cast-iron brake disc and a ceramic coating (tungsten carbide). Advantages over the conventional cast-iron brake of a similar design and size: even better responsiveness and particularly high fading stability. Thanks to this new surface coating, the brake disc remains glossy even after a long service life. Brake calipers painted in white lend this brake its distinctive look. It is fitted as standard to the Cayenne Turbo and is available as an option for all other Cayenne models.

Optional rear-axle steering is available for the Cayenne models for the first time. It enhances performance and everyday driveability in equal measure. At low speeds, the system steers the rear wheels in the opposite direction to that of the front wheels. This has the virtual effect of shortening the wheelbase. The turning circle is reduced, agility is increased and parking becomes noticeably easier to manage. At high speeds, the system steers the rear wheels in the same direction as that of the front wheels. This virtual extension of the wheelbase increases driving stability.

Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC)

PDCC is an active roll stabilisation system. It registers the lateral inclination of the body induced by cornering from the very outset and suppresses it accordingly. The system also reduces the vehicle's lateral instability on uneven ground. The electromechanical anti-roll bars are new. These respond faster than their hydraulic equivalents and work more efficiently. The result: improved performance.

The LED matrix beam deactivates specific segments of the permanent main-beam cone. 84 individually controlled LEDs adapt to the situation by switching off or dimming. Vehicles in front or in the oncoming lane are no longer dazzled, while the areas in between and to the side are still fully illuminated.

In addition to all the PDLS functions, PDLS Plus also features electronic cornering lights and an Intersection Assistantbased on navigation data. As you approach a crossroads or T junction, the Intersection Assistant activates the left and right cornering lights and the light cone becomes wider and shorter – for enhanced illumination of your surroundings.

The full-colour head­up display projects all the information relevant for the journey directly into the driver's field of vision. The driver is therefore less distracted and can fully focus on the road ahead. The information displayed includes current speed, navigation, traffic sign recognition, telephone, off-road stats and warnings from the vehicle assistance systems.

The brightness automatically adapts to the external lighting conditions. There is also a night and day mode and the height of the display can be adjusted. The optional Sport Chrono Package allows additional information to be included in the head­up display.

Depending on the distance from the vehicle ahead, the system controls the speed of your Cayenne completely independently. For this purpose, radar sensors in the front apron monitor the area in front of your vehicle.

If you have set a certain speed and approach a vehicle that is driving more slowly, the system will reduce your speed by decelerating or gently braking until the pre-set distance is reached. Your Cayenne now maintains this distance from the vehicle in front. If this continues to brake, the adaptive cruise control reduces your speed - even down to a halt.

The auto stop-and-go function enables the vehicle to automatically restart after braking to a halt. If the vehicle stops for more than three seconds, briefly touching the accelerator pedal or releasing the steering column lever are enough to restart the vehicle.

The system eases the burden on the driver by providing steering assistance, helping to keep the vehicle in lane.

Integrated traffic sign recognition uses camera images and navigation data to detect speed limits, ‘no overtaking’ zones and to infer local traffic codes (e.g. from boundary signs). Information is displayed in the instrument cluster.

The cornering notification enhances the traffic sign recognition function. Based on navigation system data and camera recognition of cornering road signs, the system displays an arrowed direction warning on the instrument cluster alerting you to tight corners. Long before you reach them. How do you benefit? Increased comfort. And reduced stress, not least on long cross-country journeys.

Collision and brake assist

The standard collision and brake assist significantly reduces the risk of collision with cars, pedestrians or cyclists within the system limits.

With the help of the front camera, the system detects an imminent collision with cars, pedestrians or cyclists and alerts the driver by means of a visual and acoustic warning. And possibly a brake jolt, if the vehicle approaches cars, pedestrians or cyclists too quickly. The driver's own braking is then reinforced, down to a complete halt if necessary. If the driver fails to respond, an emergency stop is automatically initiated to avoid a collision or reduce its impact.

Night Vision Assist

When driving at night, Night Vision Assist provides the driver with information even beyond the range of the headlights. An infrared camera detects pedestrians or larger animals before they are illuminated. In combination with PDLS Plus, the marker light function briefly flashes the headlight at the pedestrian on the pavement or in the carriageway three times to alert the driver.

Porsche InnoDrive supports you in a completely new way while driving. The system enhances adaptive cruise control with additional, innovative functions. It predictively optimises your speed. With the aid of high-resolution navigation data and information from the radar and video sensors, Porsche InnoDrive ascertains speed limits and topographical road features, such as gradients or corner radii, along your route even before you reach them – and adapts the gear change strategy and speed of your Cayenne accordingly. For intelligent driving and a clear efficiency advantage. Depending on the mode, the system selects the optimum parameters for engine management and gear selection, including coasting and deceleration. Porsche InnoDrive is typically Porsche: increased efficiency with optimum comfort and driving pleasure.

Burmester® High-End 3D Surround Sound System

Quiet, please, as we introduce a total output of 1,455 watts, 21 individually controlled loudspeakers including an active subwoofer with 400-watt class D digital amplifier, two-way centre system and a total diaphragm surface area of more than 2,500 cm². Special air motion transformer tweeters ensure unmistakably fine, clear and undistorted high-frequency sound reproduction with excellent level stability.

All loudspeaker housings are perfectly matched and deliver superior bass foundation, definition and precision. The result is a natural and richly textured spatial sound, even at top volume. Particularly impressive is the new 3D sound experience, created by the loudspeakers integrated into the roof pillars and by the use of a special Auro 3D algorithm. The Sound Enhancer optimises the quality of music in compressed data format. The system also blends impeccably into the overall interior aesthetic thanks to the Burmester® loudspeaker trims in the doors.

The BOSE® Surround Sound System features 14 amplifier channels and offers a total output of 710 watts. Fourteen loudspeakers including a separate subwoofer ensure balanced, faithfully reproduced acoustics. BOSE® SoundTrue® enhancement technology delivers even better audio quality and dynamics for compressed file formats such as MP3. The patented AudioPilot® Noise Compensation Technology continuously measures the ambient noise inside the vehicle and automatically adapts music playback so that a consistent sound is maintained.

Sound Package Plus

The standard Sound Package Plus provides excellent sound: ten loudspeakers with an output of 150 watts. The amplifier integrated into PCM optimally adapts the acoustics in the vehicle interior to the driver and front passenger.
