True strength comes from within

True strength comes from within, particularly when it comes to classic Porsche vehicles. It is even more important to keep an eye on what is on the inside of these cars. When classic cars are not used on a regular basis, or especially when they are stored during winter, the fuel is an important topic to consider. Fuel additive from Porsche Classic helps – with the “Made in Germany” quality you expect.

Effect of the additive

The fuel additive forms a protective layer between metal and fuel. This is a gentle process that protects the tank and fuel system against corrosion and deposits – even the areas that are not covered by the fuel, such as the air zone in the fuel tank. Special molecules in the additive form a corrosion protection layer throughout the fuel system, thus ensuring an optimal level of protection. Condensation that has already formed in the fuel system is bonded by the chemical elements and does not cause any damage.

The additive dissolves deposits and adhesions that have already been formed. We were able to prove this in several long-term tests in collaboration with the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach. A number of tests to determine the compatibility of the additive with materials that form Porsche Classic Genuine Parts were also successfully carried out.

FAQs

Possible impact of not using the additive:

If your classic cars are left stationary for extended periods of up to seven months, condensation can form in the fuel system. This condensation can cause various components within the fuel system to corrode. The components of the fuel with a low boiling point can evaporate, resulting in a sticky residue on the carburettor and injectors, as well as on the electric pump. After the vehicle is left stationary for long periods, the engine may no longer start, may jolt or may not fire on all cylinders.

What amount of additive is recommended?

The 300 millilitres of Porsche Classic fuel additive supplied in the container is sufficient for fuel tanks ranging from smaller ones such as the 50-litre tank in the Porsche 356 up to larger tanks with a capacity of 90 litres, such as in the Carrera GT. The fuel additive remains effective for stationary periods of up to seven months and its performance only begins to gradually decline after this length of time.

The Porsche Classic fuel additive can be used in all classic Porsche cars. What’s on the inside counts when it comes to optimum car care – and as you would expect, we leave nothing to chance in this respect.

The Porsche Classic fuel additive is available under part number 00004420602 and for the US-variant under 00004420622.

There may be delays in availability in some countries. Further information can be obtained from your Porsche Classic Partner or at your Porsche Centre.
