Some people go to Croatia for its superb coastline.
Some go to feel the wind in their hair.
Croatia – the land of a thousand islands with its crystal-clear waters, picturesque fishing villages and small harbour towns in bays along the Adriatic coast, as well as the Istrian peninsula known as the ‘Tuscany of Croatia’. In its vineyards, olive groves and truffle regions, there’s a wealth of culinary delights to discover.
Other characteristic features of Istria include winding mountain roads and spectacular coastal stretches, parts of which are used for rally racing. The ideal location, therefore, for an unforgettable seaside holiday – at the wheel of a Porsche with the wind in your hair.
Individual travel to Zagreb airport where you will be greeted and taken to the Esplanade Zagreb Hotel. Built in 1925, this five-star hotel is located in the heart of the city and is considered one of its most famous and splendid buildings. Since its opening, it has always been at the centre of social life in Zagreb, playing host to many famous guests including presidents, politicians, film stars and musicians. In the evening, we invite you to enjoy the very first highlight of your tour: a welcome dinner at the Zinfandel restaurant – one of the finest dining establishments in Croatia.
Straight after breakfast, it’s time to take to the wheel of a Porsche to experience pure, unadulterated driving pleasure. Set off along the motorway to Karlovac, before continuing into the mountainous region of Gorski kotar where the route is lined with spruce and beech forests, tranquil lakes and raging rivers. Follow the winding mountain roads until you reach the coast. Stop off for a leisurely lunch at the Draga di Lovrana restaurant in Lovran, before heading south along the coast to Rovinj. Croatia’s most romantic city, it has earned itself the nickname ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’. Spend the night at the five-star boutique hotel, Monte Mulini. Offering sophisticated design and an extraordinary ambience, the hotel is situated right by the crystal blue sea in a picturesque bay.
On the boat trip over to the island of St. Andrews for dinner at the Lanterna Restaurant, you can enjoy magnificent views of the Rovinj archipelago. The breathtaking display of colour in the skies at dusk creates a magical backdrop.
Today, you set off in your Porsche to explore Istria’s lush hinterland, an area of countryside that strongly resembles that of Tuscany. The region is renowned, in particular, for specialities such as wine, olive oil and truffles. And one more thing: winding mountain roads, parts of which are used for rally racing. Drive through the Istrian hills, stopping off in the idyllic small town of Groznjan en route to Livade. Here, you can enjoy an olive oil tasting before savouring a selection of truffle dishes at the famous Zigante restaurant. Since the world’s largest truffle weighing 1.3 kg was discovered here by Mr.
Zigante, Livade has become an international centre for this culinary delicacy. Afterwards, the route takes you along narrow serpentine roads, past vineyards and olive groves, back to the chic seaside resort of Opatija, also called the ‘Nice of the Adriatic’. Check-in at the Milenij Hotel followed by dinner in the hotel’s Trattoria St. Jakob restaurant, a stylish setting in which to review your experiences of the day.
In the morning, you set off on narrow country roads to the east coast. The subsequent journey along the coastal road is a real treat for any Porsche enthusiast. From the steep cliffs you can enjoy breathtaking views of the turquoise water of the Adriatic. Break for lunch at the Boskinac Hotel restaurant on Pag Island, before continuing along the coast to your destination for the night: the Hotel Bastion in Zadar.
Today, you take a boat trip to the Krka waterfalls in the national park of the same name. After lunch at the Bibich winery, you take to the wheel once again. Upon arrival in Split, it’s unfortunately time to leave your Porsche behind again as you take a speedboat to Hvar Island. In the evening, enjoy dinner in the old town before retiring to your room at the Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel.
After breakfast, you set off by speedboat back to Split where you take to the driver’s seat in your Porsche once again. The tour then continues to Dubrovnik, stopping off in Mali Ston for lunch at the Bota Sare restaurant – a particular highlight for any oyster lover. The evening kicks off with an aperitif on board the boat, followed by dinner in the old town of Dubrovnik. Spend the night at the Villa Dubrovnik.
Unfortunately, it’s now time to bid farewell to Croatia. Transfer to the airport in Dubrovnik for your individual departure time. If you wish to extend your stay in Dubrovnik, please let us know.
