Individual arrival at Ivalo Airport. After landing around noon, you will be taken straight for lunch with the opportunity to get to know the other tour participants over a buffet in a traditional log cabin.
Then, it all starts with your briefing about the days ahead and an introduction to your Porsche Cayenne. The first leg of the tour takes you to Karasjok. After just a few miles, you’re likely to catch a glimpse of some local wildlife: in summer, the reindeer leave the warm, humid forests and venture as far as the small isolated villages.
In the early evening, you arrive at the Rica Hotel in Karasjok – where you will be greeted in traditional style with a Sami dinner around an open fire. Afterwards, those wishing to gain a deeper insight into the Sami way of life can visit the nearby Sami Park and museum.
After a leisurely breakfast, you head north for Honningsvåg – driving along the unspoilt Norwegian coast. From the winding coastal roads you’ll regularly catch breathtaking views of tranquil fishing villages and the crystal-clear waters of the ocean. Before arriving in Honningsvåg, you stop off for a culinary highlight: a king crab safari. Head out to the open seas in a fishing boat where a lunch of freshly-caught king crab awaits you.
You then drive straight to your hotel in Honningsvåg.
In the afternoon, you set off again to take the boat to the Gjesværstappan nature reserve – a paradise for nature lovers and rare birds alike. Here, you can observe puffins, cormorants and sea eagles in their natural habitat.
The bird safari is followed by the main attraction of the tour – the North Cape. You’ll find it difficult to tear your gaze away – but then you won’t have to. After a guided tour of the museum, you can relax over dinner at the Panorama Restaurant with wonderful views of the Cape.
The midnight sun shows off the wild and romantic side of the North Cape at its best – a very special spectacle of nature that is sure to be etched into your memory for many years to come.
An impressive morning awaits you straight after breakfast on the drive towards Hammerfest. You will pass a number of sheer cliffs and colourful summer meadows, as you follow the winding roads along the coast.
Upon arrival in Hammerfest, you can explore the town’s unforgiving past at the Polar Bear Society museum. The Hurtigruten ferry then takes you to Øksfjord. Discover another side to Norway on this three-hour boat trip as you admire the rugged coastline from afar. An extensive buffet lunch on board will help pass the time.
When you get to Øksfjord, it’s time to go ashore again and head away from the coast into the imposing landscape with its enchanted forests.
Arrive at the Senja Hotel where you can rest your eyes after driving through such incredibly diverse countryside. This cosy hotel is reflected in the turquoise waters of a small lake.
Today, there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, as it’s only a 10-minute drive from the hotel to the ferry that takes you to Andenes.
Another highlight of the tour awaits you here: after lunch, you set off by expedition boat on a whale safari. The likelihood of being able to catch a glimpse of these ocean giants is particularly high here.
Back in Andenes, the tour continues to Svolvær – the capital of Lofoten. The route is extremely picturesque and passes through a number of villages that are typical of northern Norway.
Following this eventful day, check in at the hotel before taking the time to review the experiences of the day over a relaxing dinner in Svolvær harbour.
On a tour to Norway, you are guaranteed to see spectacular scenery and rare animals. Another gem not to be missed is a journey back in time to the Viking age – on a visit to the Viking Museum.
After a traditional lunch, the tour continues to Reine – an idyllic fishing village. Nestling on the steep mountain slopes, it has been voted the country’s most beautiful village – and not without good reason.
In the afternoon, you take a trip by RIB boat along the famous Trollfjord, which captivates visitors with its sheer cliffs and mountain panoramas. The boats then take you to a small uninhabited island where you round off the tour under the open skies with dinner around an open fire.
Today, it’s time to say farewell.
Transfer to Svolvær Airport followed by individual departure.
