A rare sight in Namibia’s wide open spaces:
A Porsche in the wild.
More than twice as large as Germany, it is also the least densely populated country in the world with just under 2.2 million inhabitants. A journey filled with contrasts – and adventure. With its unspoilt landscapes, a wide variety of wildlife and a unique blend of African and European influences, Namibia is a truly fascinating destination. A country just waiting to be discovered – by water, by air or on land – namely in a Porsche Cayenne or a Porsche Macan.
Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako Airport, you will be picked up and taken to your accommodation in Windhoek: the elegant Hotel Heinitzburg. After checking into your room the rest of the afternoon is free to spend as you please. In the evening, relax over dinner in the hotel’s wine cellar – the largest private wine cellar in Namibia.
Enjoy a variety of local and international specialities, accompanied by select South African wines to round off your evening.
The next morning, we will introduce you to your sporty travelling companion for the next few days: a Porsche Cayenne or the Porsche Macan. Just a few miles outside of Windhoek, the tarmac roads give way to a gravel track. The first highlight: the Spreetshoogte Pass from which you can marvel at breathtaking views of the Namib Desert and the adjoining mountain ranges. As you pass through Solitaire, you come to Namibia’s largest private national park, the NamibRand Nature Reserve.
You will spend the night surrounded by the awe-inspiring beauty of the desert, at the Wolwedans Dunes Lodge, and the service and comfort offered here leaves nothing to be desired. Wilderness and comfort are ideally combined here.
The next day starts early – before breakfast – with a further highlight: a tour of the world famous sand dunes of the Sossusvlei as well as the Dead Vlei. We drive off to the Namib Desert at sunrise to observe the glorious interplay of light and shadow there. Following the walking tour you can exchange your impressions of nature's spectacle with the group over breakfast under acacia trees. Then it's back to the Lodge where you can spend the afternoon as you wish. You can use the time for an excursion in the surrounding region or just relax by the pool.
The following day takes you and your Porsche Cayenne or Porsche Macan through the Namib-Naukluft-National Park on unpaved gravel tracks. Then you'll drive over the rugged Gaub and Kuiseb Passes to Swakopmund on your way to the Namibian coast. Here there are still clear traces of Namibia's German colonial past. The night's accommodation is the Swakopmund Hotel.
The next day brings a change of scenery with a magnificent boat trip around the lagoon of Walvis Bay. You can watch dolphins, seals and sea birds at close range while savouring fresh oysters and snacks. The rest of the afternoon is free to spend as you please. In the evening, relax over dinner in one of the city’s best fish restaurants.
The next morning, you will take to the wheel once again for the drive along a salt route, heading inland via Henties Bay. You will then pass Namibia’s highest geological feature, the Brandberg Massif, before driving on towards Damaraland. Along the way, you stop to visit the rock engravings and paintings at Twyfelfontein. In the late afternoon, you arrive at your destination for the night: the Mowani Mountain Camp. The spectacular sunset over the granite boulders is an impressive sight to behold and brings this eventful day to a fitting close.
Today is dedicated to stalking game. Naturally, your Porsche Cayenne or Porsche Macan is in the mix when you follow the route to the Etosha National Park, one of the largest nature parks in the world. The private Ongava game reserve lies at its southern border. Set against a backdrop of unspoilt natural beauty is the luxurious Ongava Lodge, your accommodation for the night. Relax over dinner while enjoying unequalled views of a watering hole frequented by various species of wild animals – an unforgettable sight.
You will see even more animals in the wild the next day on a full day safari through the Etosha National Park, which is home to elephants, giraffes, rhinos, lions and leopards, to name but a few. The biodiversity here is guaranteed to impress, as is your accommodation for the following two nights: Onguma The Fort, an incredible lodge affording views of the Etosha Pan.
After such a packed schedule the previous day, the day is free to spend at your leisure. For example, you have the opportunity to just relax and enjoy the features of your luxury lodging or go on another exciting safari tour.
On the last day of your tour, you set off back along the tarmac roads to Windhoek and to the Hotel Heinitzburg, where you will spend your last night.
You will be driven to the airport in good time for your departure, taking along most treasured souvenirs: your memories.
