Porsche has enjoyed unparalleled success in sports car racing over the course of history, but no one model has dominated the upper echelon of road racing like the all-conquering 962. With over 50 wins in IMSA’s prestigious GTP class and numerous international victories such as the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 962 lineage is considered by many to be the most successful race cars ever produced. Combining a beautiful, well-engineered chassis with a powerful engine with outstanding reliability, Porsche created a race car that endeared it to drivers, crews, and fans alike. The infatuation with the 962 continues today in vintage racing where many examples are regularly campaigned and finish in victory circle.

However, no matter how well engineered a race car may be, there is always room for improvement and a need for maintenance to ensure peak performance. The personnel at Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) are many of the same people who contributed to the success of nearly all 962’s competing during the height of IMSA prototype racing. Engine development overseen by then PMNA President Alwin Springer are what 962 teams relied upon to win over 50 IMSA endurance and sprint races, including four Daytona 24 Hour and four 12 Hours of Sebring events.

PMNA’s vast “hands-on experience” sets us apart from all others offering service for the 962.  In conjunction with a large inventory of new and serviceable used components, one realizes that there is no other facility in the world that has a 962 pedigree equal to PMNA, excluding Weissach. Whether the 962 vintage racer is seeking an engine rebuild, complete restoration or looking for that hard to find original part, PMNA’s staff has the knowledge and expertise necessary to satisfy even the most discerning customer.

PMNA is involved on several levels to provide proper support to owners competing with their 962 in vintage races. In addition to the daily activities at our workshop in Santa Ana, CA, PMNA representatives can also be found at selected vintage races across North America providing trackside technical support. PMNA can also provide inspections for those interested in purchasing a 962 or other select race cars.
