UPS has been engaged in international motor sports for some considerable years being a sponsoring partner for Porsche. For the ninth consecutive year UPS, the world’s largest Express and package delivery company, sponsors the UPS Porsche Junior Team for both, the Porsche Carrera Cup and the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. In 2008 Marco Holzer (GER) and Martin Ragginger (AUT) gain their motor sports experiences in the Porsche GT3 Cup race cars in the unmistakable UPS design.
The two offspring drivers were able to stand up to numerous competitors in a selection process that lasted for several days. Representatives of Porsche and UPS as well as medics and PR specialists got granular on the young talents. Physical fitness, interview training, speed, constancy and the ability to set up a race car were among the topics on the timetable.
Already since 1997, UPS and Porsche promote offspring drivers with trainings and internships around motor sports. Since that date, the UPS Junior team achieved five driver championships in Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. The driver title with UPS counts as an excellent reference for becoming a Porsche works driver. Also in 2007, two UPS Porsche Junior Driver will gather work experience in the Porsche one-make-championships.
For a long time already, the cooperation between Porsche and UPS marks a success from which all parties profit. The young drivers gain race experience and stay at UPS's disposal for meet & greets and some quick laps on and off the race track. A partnership that creates added value.
