Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain

The Porsche Carrera Cup GB is at the very pinnacle of British motor racing. Stunning cars, top teams and drivers and unrivalled back up from Porsche Cars GB makes the Carrera Cup the obvious choice for teams and drivers seeking a superb racing platform for 2011.

New for 2011 is the latest development of the stunning 911 GT3 Cup car, with more power, more downforce and an even better driving experience featuring amongst a host of changes.

The new season will be the ninth year of Carrera Cup in Britain, modelled on Porsche's long-established world-wide Carrera Cup concept. Equal cars, close and exciting racing and first-class facilities for teams and drivers all add to the strength of the championship. The Carrera Cup GB continues to be a prime support race to the British Touring Car Championship, which guarantees bumper race day crowds and first-class TV coverage.

The successful Professional-Amateur 1 and the Professional-Amateur 2 categories ensure that the less-experienced and non-professional racers can compete for their own points, prize money and podiums within the overall championship.

The Professional-Amateur 2 category offers new drivers the chance to join the Carrera Cup GB for selected events and compete for separate points and awards.

Porsche Carrera World Cup

In June 2011 competitors in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB will take part in the Porsche Carrera World Cup, an incredible race on the famous Nordschleife circuit at the Nurburgring which will be contested by up to 200 911 GT3 Cup cars.

The race, a round of the Carrera Cup GB, will run over six laps of the 14-mile circuit during the build up to the Nurburgring 24-hour race on Saturday 25 June. With a crowd of 250,000 fans expected, the race will make history as the biggest single-make race ever held.

For the Carrera Cup GB drivers and teams the Porsche Carrera World Cup represents a chance to be part of a remarkable occasion and compete on what is widely regarded as the greatest race track in the world.

After a superb Carrera Cup GB season in 2010 with a capacity entry, the stage is set for an even better year in 2011.
