Its 2.7-litre flat-six engine with direct fuel injection (DFI) and VarioCam Plus produces 195 kW (265 hp) at 6,700 rpm, and maximum torque of 280 Nm between 4,500 and 6,500 rpm. The top speed is 264 km/h (164 mph). With the precisely geared sixspeed gearbox fitted as standard, the Boxster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 - 62 mph) in just 5.8 seconds. With the optional 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), it races from 0 to 100 km/h (0 - 62 mph) in 5.7 seconds and achieves a top speed of 262 km/h (163 mph). Together with PDK and the Launch Control feature of the optional Sport Chrono Package the Boxster can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 - 62 mph) in a mere 5.5 seconds.
