Their great love of detail meant that the Porsche enthusiasts who flocked to this popular event were once again unable to conceal their enthusiasm. 95 gleaming Porsche vehicles from all eras were put forward for rigorous assessment by the jury, while 400 other proud owners also displayed their vehicles outside the competition. Once again, the Concours D’Elegance provided one of the finest snapshots of this year's USA Porsche Parade in Salt Lake City. The staging of the vehicles against the impressive backdrop of the Utah State Capitol building, together with views of the city and countryside, made for fascinating insights and outlooks.
Between 8 and 14 July 2012, 1,800 members of the Porsche Club of America (PCA), guests and sponsors pursued their passion in Utah's state capital, and enjoyed events including an autocross competition, a rally, the vehicles display and many information events relating to Porsche. Visitors were able to gain an impression of the many different aspects of the world of Porsche, while enjoying the generous hospitality. Exclusive and Tequipment, Porsche Consulting, Driver’s Selection by Porsche Design – and Porsche Classic, of course - all set out their displays on around 180 square metres.
Many participants took advantage of the opportunity to get advice directly from the Classic experts from Zuffenhausen and the USA. The selection of Classic genuine parts displayed on a high shelving system also attracted a great deal of interest. Visitors were impressed by the new "old" Porsche crest for the front hood handle of all Porsche 356 models (model years 1954 to 1965) and for the front hood of the Porsche 911 (model years 1963 to 1973).Photographs and film footage vividly illustrated its elaborate production. The pre-painted body of a Porsche 356 Speedster (model year 1957) was also subjected to close examination. This classic, which belongs to an American customer, is currently being restored in the Porsche Classic workshop near Stuttgart.
Porsche Classic's participation in the Tech Academy for the first time added the finishing touch to its strong outing here. The specialists gave a comprehensive introduction to the entire department in talks and videos, so that Porsche enthusiasts can continue to pursue and enjoy their love of detail.
