Taking an active role at our Leipzig site

The standards that apply in Stuttgart and Weissach are also extremely relevant in Leipzig, where our environmental objectives are equally ambitious. Our production site for the Cayenne is situated in a rural area which entails high levels of environmental responsibility. We do, however, have different options here – and different neighbours that we have become extremely fond of. Over 50 rare cattle roam approximately 70 hectares of former military land. They must feel at home as the population has more than doubled since spring 2002. The cattle also share the area with wild Exmoor ponies.

Countryside management in Leipzig.

Managing habitats is part of countryside management, with the aim of preserving the existing flora and fauna in perpetuity. Porsche ensures that animal life is not affected by off-road driving on the course and the animals prevent their grazing areas from becoming overgrown. It is a fair deal. At Porsche in Leipzig, ecology and economy are in balance, thus enhancing the success story of the Cayenne.
