The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia offers drivers and teams three races as support to Formula 1. The season-opener at the Grand Prix of China takes place on the Shanghai International Circuit. Singapore and Korea also host the fiercely-contested one-make cup alongside the top league Formula 1. A total of 13 races make up the calendar.
After its successful season, the Carrera Cup Australia is again a ‘must see’ for racing fans ‘down under’. Seven race weekends are on the calendar. The absolute highlights are the meetings at two of the most important motorsport events in Australia – the Formula 1 race in Melbourne and the Clipsal 500, where over 270,000 spectators flock to Adelaide.
The longest standing of all Porsche brand trophy race series features some innovations: With the exception of the guest appearance at the 24 hour race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, two sprints with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup are contested at all other eight race weekends. On the calendar are two events outside Germany. The Carrera Cup Deutschland, run as support to the German Touring Car Masters (DTM), is not only a top-league, professional race series but also an excellent training ground for talented youngsters. This season two young hotshot race drivers contest the championship as Porsche Juniors.
The appeal of the Carrera Cup France is not only due to its differing race formats. At four of the six events in 2013, a sprint over 20 minutes and a race over 40 minutes are contested with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
Storied race tracks like Brands Hatch, Donington and Silverstone are permanent highlights on the calendar of the Carrera Cup Great Britain. Title defender James Sutton faces his rivals twice in Brands Hatch – once at the season-opener on the Indy course, and again at the finale on the Grand Prix circuit. The champions in all three classes will be announced after a total of 20 championship races (Pro, Pro-Am1, Pro-Am2).
In Misano, the Carrera Cup Italia takes off into the new season on 5 May. Seven events with a total of 14 races make up the calendar. This season, the series travels to the Red Bull Ring in Austria’s Zeltweg. The Grand Prix circuit in the Royal Park of Monza hosts the final round on 20 October.
Seven race weekends are on the calendar. The Highlight is the traditional final race at the Grand Prix of Japan in Suzuka. Okayama hosts the season opener.
The season opens on 5 May at Ring Knutsorp. Eight events make up the calendar with one race contested at each round. The season concludes on 22 September at Mantorp Park.
