FAQ For Porsche Driving Experience
Is the Porsche Experience Centre just for Porsche customers?
No. The Porsche Experience Centre is designed for anyone with an interest in improving their driving ability and enjoyment. However, to guarantee consistent levels of quality for our visitors, events must be pre-booked in advance of arriving at Silverstone. We endeavour to look after all of our visitors on an individual basis, this is why we keep daily visitor numbers restricted.
Are there any driving restrictions?
Drivers must be between the ages of 18 and 75, please contact us in advance if you have had any convictions or disqualifications in the last 5 years.
Are there refreshments available at the Porsche Experience Centre?
The Porsche Restaurant is open all day and serves breakfast, lunch and tea. Drinks are included in the cost of all courses.
There is a guest charge of £11.50 to cover non-driving, spectator guests. It is imperative that guests are pre-booked prior to arrival.
In courses lasting more than 90 minutes lunch is included in the price of the course, lunch must be pre-booked on courses that last 90 min or less and it costs £18.50 for a 3 course meal. Find out more about the Porsche Restaurant.
Can I use my own Car?
On specific dates each year we operate the YouDrive@Porsche Course on which you use your own car, even if it is not a Porsche.
On all other Porsche Sport Driving School Courses or Porsche Driving Experience Courses you either use a Porsche which we provide or you can use your own Porsche. Find out more about the range of driving experiences available.
How does the Porsche car hire work?
Hiring a vehicle ensures that you get the most out of your experience as we handle the small details such as ideal tyre pressure and fuel in the tank. A range of Porsche cars are available to hire with various costs. Porsche hire is included in the cost of every 90 minute course. However hire is not included in the cost of the Porsche Sport Driving Schools courses, you can either use your own Porsche (subject to approval) or choose which Porsche you would like to hire at an additional cost. Can I specify my Porsche Driving Consultants?
If you have driven with any of our Driving Consultants before please mention this at the time of the booking and we will do our best to find suitable dates for your Driving Experience where your chosen Driving Consultant is available. Find out more about the Porsche Driving Consultants.
Will my Experience be forfeited due to bad weather?
Typically if you can get to the Porsche Experience Centre we will operate the driving experience as we endeavour to simulate road conditions. In adverse weather we find guests typically get more out of the courses as they learn more about their driving style and reactions in challenging conditions. We will only cancel the Driving Experience in very unusual circumstances and endeavour to re-schedule your session at the next convenient time for you.
Can I bring a Non-driving guest?
Please advise us at the time of booking if you intend to bring non-driving guests to enable us to suitably look after them. There is a charge of £11.50 to cover refreshments including breakfast and afternoon tea, however if you would like your guest to join you for lunch the charge is £30. There is no charge for visitors under the age of 16.
Can I bring my children?
Children are welcome at the Porsche Experience Centre providing under 16's are accompanied by a Non Driving adult at all times.
Is there somewhere for Non-driving guest to sit and spectate?
The Porsche restaurant overlooks the Porsche tracks and we also have a roof terrace which has a fantastic view over the Porsche tracks and Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. Find out more about the facilities at the Porsche Experience Centre.
Can I drive on the Silverstone Circuits as well as the Porsche track?
A session on Silverstone Circuit is included in the Porsche Sport Driving School Precision, Performance and Master courses. On the Warm-Up course it is possible on specific dates throughout the year for an additional cost of £175 for a 30 minute drive session being accompanied by a Porsche Driving Consultant. Crash helmets are also required and can be provided by Porsche at no additional charge.
What do I wear?
There is no dress-code, however we recommend that you dress comfortably and with sensible driving footwear.

There are a number of hotels that we can recommend in the vicinity of Silverstone, please mention “Porsche Driving Experience” when booking for a preferential Porsche rate.

If I wanted to fly down what are the nearest airports?
Our nearest airports are: Luton Airport, Birmingham Airport, East Midlands Airport, Heathrow Airport. We would have negotiated preferential rates with a luxury chauffeur company for transfers from airports and train stations:

Are we allowed to bring cameras?
Cameras are not allowed in the cars, however they can be used on site.
Can I buy a Driving Experience as a gift?
Our Porsche Experience Shop enables you to purchase any of the courses as a ‘voucher’ valid for 12 months. You can then call us to arrange a suitable date.
We offer a Gift Driving Experience for £275 which comes with a gift box and DVD so that the recipient can make their own choice of Driving Experience course.
What if I have to cancel my Driving Experience?
For Porsche Driving Experience and Sport Driving School courses the driving session may be cancelled up to 15 days prior to the event and re-scheduled to a suitable date. Cancellations received less than 15 days prior to the event will result in the forfeit of the driving session.
Can I transfer my Driving Experience?
Yes, as long as the new attendee meets the insurance requirements. You can also swap between courses of the same cost, subject to availability.
What dates are available for my Driving Experience?
Porsche Driving Experience and Porsche Sport Driving School courses operate Monday to Friday throughout the year, with a choice of start times. The YouDrive@Porsche course runs on Saturdays between May and October.
FAQ For Porsche Human Performance
Why is there a Human Performance Centre?
You as the driver are the most important component of the car. Your health, well-being and to a certain extent, fitness dictates how much enjoyment you get from driving, and how safe and effective you are behind the wheel.
Do I need gym kit to participate?
No. Our Wellness assessments do not involve exercise, we are able to evaluate your general well-being from resting measurements. The more fitness- and sports-orientated assessments will, require you to wear clothing and footwear suitable for exercise.
What can I learn from a Wellness Check?
A Wellness Check is the most popular assessment. It takes only 15 minutes to complete and offers an invaluable insight into your current level of health and well-being.
Who uses the Human Performance Centre?
We work with a broad spectrum of clients that ranging from professional racing divers such as F1 star Mark Webber, our very own Porsche Driving Consultant team, a growing number of Porsche customers and fitness enthusiasts from a variety of sports.
