110 years of the Solitude Race. There’ll be plenty to celebrate at the Solitude Revival 2013, including the return to historic locations such as the start and finish tower, pit lane and paddock. For the first time, the complete historic ensemble of Solitude racing history and the entire Solitude Ring circuit are being combined in a single meeting.
Porsche was a regular visitor to the legendary Solitude Ring on the outskirts of its home town of Stuttgart, which in its day was just as famous all over the world as the Nürburgring, and has secured more victories at Solitude than any other car maker. For Porsche, this was reason enough to take part in the anniversary event celebrating 110 years of the Solitude Race, which will take place between 19 July and 21 July 2013.
Porsche Classic will be there next to the start and home straights with two vehicles, a 356 and the Monte Carlo Rally vehicle from 1965, both currently being restored in the Porsche Classic workshop. The specialists will provide detailed information about the availability of Porsche Genuine Spare Parts and about the maintenance and restoration of classic Porsche vehicles. Porsche Exclusive & Tequipment will also be exhibiting several show vehicles. Six unique models will be used to demonstrate the unlimited possibilities of the personalisation options. Experts will also be on hand throughout the five-day event to provide information to visitors. The large selection of Porsche products on show in the start and finish area will be complemented with the popular Porsche Design Driver’s Selection Truck with a wide range of Porsche accessories.
The Porsche Museum will also be there, with several vehicles and the museum shop in the southern drivers’ paddock. Along with the type 718 Formula 2, the 804 Formula 1 and the 356 B 2000 Carrera GT ‘Dreikantschaber’ (Wedge Blade), various Porsche 911 models will be displayed to mark the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911.
