Porsche announces its presence in VietnamPorsche announces its presence in Vietnam.
Porsche Asia Pacific Pte Ltd is proud to announce the appointment of Prestige Sports Cars Company Ltd as its official Porsche importer in Vietnam, effective 1 August 2007.
Currently, a brand new 3S Porsche Centre is under development in the Business District 7 in HCMC and is expected to be completed by early 2008. It will offer from then onwards the possibility of fully experiencing the Porsche world by displaying new and pre-owned cars (incl. Porsche warranty), an internationally trained and experienced After Sales Service/team and a great variety of Porsche Merchandise (Porsche Design Driver's Selection).
In anticipation of the official announcement, Managing Director of Porsche Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Mr Christer Ekberg mentioned, “Vietnam’s economy is progressing at a remarkably fast pace and consumer demand for cars is rising steadily on the back of the country's strong economic growth. We are very proud to bring the Porsche brand and our exciting model range to Vietnam such as the legendary 911, the mid-engine Boxster roadster, the mid-engine sports coupe Cayman and last but not least our Cayenne SUV models. I am also proud to announce that Porsche, for the second year around, scored number one in the yearly JD Power Quality and Customer Satisfaction Survey. We are very confident that Porsche will have a very successful future in Vietnam.”
Mr Andreas Klingler will head the Porsche operations at Prestige Sports Cars Company Ltd as General Director. Prior to this new assignment in Vietnam, Mr Klingler was more than 5 years with the Singapore based regional office of Porsche Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, as the Regional Manager After Sales and has already in total gained very professional and valuable experience with the brand for more than 20 years.
Vietnam with its current population of more than 87 mn (UN estimate) and the increase of foreign investments represent one of the fastest growing emerging markets in Southeast Asia. The gradual reduction of import related taxes and tariffs ensures a continuous growth in annual car sales and makes Porsche’s entry into the market strategically timed.
Porsche and Prestige Sports Cars Company Ltd are committed to furthering their expansion with development plans that include future dealerships in Hanoi as well as in Laos and Cambodia.
