Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Round 9 PreviewAn exclusive interview with the drivers
With the return of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA) to Singapore just around the corner, emotions are running high as the drivers prepare to take on the Marina Bay street circuit over the September 25 – 27 weekend. Read more about their expectations and goals in this exclusive ‘behind-the-scenes’ glimpse into the drivers’ thoughts.
Mok Weng Sun, Team PCS Racing
The Singapore GP leg is definitely the highlight of the PCCA season for me and I’ve been looking forward to the opportunity to race at home. As my first race on this circuit, I hope to deliver a credible result as I know that Team PCS Racing will have strong support from Porsche Club Singapore members and friends.
The most challenging thing for me will be to find enough time to get behind the wheel of a race car. But one thing’s for sure, nothing’s going to keep me away from the Singapore GP support races this year!
Yuey Tan, Team PCS Racing
My rookie season in the PCCA has been quite an eye opener. Between coming to grips with the high grip levels of Michelin slicks, and barely surviving with the sponsors, 2009 has presented many challenges. Although it’s been a lot of fun driving in the Carrera Cup, and I can’t wait for the Singapore GP!
Melvin Choo, Corum ThunderAsia Racing
I can’t wait to race in Singapore again, the excitement and buzz from the last race was simply amazing and I wish all race enthusiasts could have that experience. This season has been difficult so far, I had to miss the Zhuhai race due to my other racing commitments and that has left me behind in points.
Ringo Chong, Team Kangshun
It’s an honour and a great feeling to be racing on home ground again. I have lived my life dreaming of the chance to race in Singapore for 35 years after the last GP in 1973 – to do it for the 2nd time is a dream come true for me again! This season, I’d really like to master how to race the 911 faster – It’s something beyond basic comprehension of driving and that’s what makes it challenging!
