Porsche Cars North America

Dear Porsche Enthusiast,
It may be possible to build a sports car on the basis of experience alone. But not a Porsche. Certainly not the 911 GT3. Such a car calls for much more. It takes engineers dedicated to the development of race cars - willing to start from scratch. In this edition of Porsche News we reveal the result of such dedication: the new 911 GT3. We also take a look at the new Porsche Museum at the Porscheplatz in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen that is not only setting new architectural standards, but also brings the Porsche story to life.

We hope you enjoy reading about these and other interesting topics.

Your Porsche team

From the inner sanctum. The new 911 GT3.
Our engineers not only have a wealth of experience in the building of sports cars, they actually live and breathe motorsports. It took this passion and dedication to bring forth the new Porsche 911 GT3. From the inner sanctum.

The new dynamic engine mounts.
The newly developed dynamic engine mounts are available on request for the new 911 GT3. They make up an electronically controlled system for minimizing vibration of the entire power unit and of the engine in particular.

Another historic win for Porsche.
With a hard-fought victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona, Porsche has again lived up to its role as the most successful manufacturer in the history of the long distance classic in Florida.
The last Daytona victory for Porsche was six years ago and it's quite remarkable that then principally the same 911 engine was powering the winning car that is now in the Daytona Prototype of Brumos Racing. Porsche also proved unbeatable in the GT class, with the 911 GT3 Cup claiming a clear triple victory.

Dream car. The 911 Carrera RS 2.7 from 1972.
At Porsche, the "Carrera" name has always been reserved for particularly powerful and exquisite models. Just like the first 911 to bear the name: the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 from 1972. With its 210 hp flat-six engine, it not only fascinated Porsche enthusiasts but was also used to great success in motor racing. The press, too, was impressed: the RS 2.7 was voted the "Dream Car of the Year".

Spectacular. The new Porsche Museum.
The new Porsche Museum at Porscheplatz in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, the site of the main Porsche plant, is an architectural masterpiece. With approximately 60,280 square feet of exhibition space, it is home to around 80 Porsche exhibits focusing on various topics. The availability of a bistro, coffee bar and museum shop, as well as the chance to visit the museum workshop for historic Porsche vehicles rounds off the Porsche Museum experience perfectly.
