Porsche Tour of Croatia

Some people go to Croatia to enjoy the beaches.
Some go to feel the wind in their hair.

Tour highlights

  • Olive oil tasting in the famous Livade truffle region
  • A drive along the famous ‘Adria Magistrale’ coastal road
  • Boat trip to St. Andrews

Croatia is a country full of natural beauty. The clear waters, picturesque fishing villages and small harbour towns on the bays along the Adriatic coast, the Istrian peninsula known as the Croatia's Tuscany with its vineyards, olive groves and truffle regions all invite visitors to discover them. Gourmets will be able to experience Croatia's wealth of culinary delights.

Other features characteristic of Istria include serpentine mountain roads and spectacular coastal stretches, so it is no coincidence that sections of these roads are used for rally racing. These are ideal conditions for an unforgettable holiday feeling the wind in your hair behind the wheel of a Porsche.

Your itinerary

Day 1

Upon your arrival at Zagreb Airport, you will be picked up and taken to your first destination – the five-star Esplanade Zagreb Hotel Buildtin 1925, the hotel is located in the heart of Zagreb and is considered to be one of the most famous and grandest buildings in the city. It has been a centre of Zagreb's social life since it opened and has counted presidents, politicians, film stars and famous musicians among its guests. We invite you to enjoy a welcome dinner at the Zinfandel Restaurant – one of the finest dining establishments in Croatia. You can look forward to culinary delights here, as well as to the next highlights of the tour.

Day 2
Zagreb – Lovran – Rovinj

The following day, it’s finally time to set off with a clear goal in mind: to experience the joy of driving. Take your Porsche on the motorway to Karlovac, the city of four rivers and a centre in the form of a 6-sided star. From there your journey takes you into the mountainous region of Gorski kotar. The countryside here is characterised by fir and beech forests, quiet lakes and rushing mountain streams. You end up at the coast via the serpentine mountain roads. After lunch at the Draga di Lovrana restaurant near Lovran, we start back inland, driving directly to the day's destination: Rovinj. It is considered Croatia's most romantic city and is called “the Pearl of the Adriatic” with good reason. There the 5-star boutique Hotel Monte Mulini, an establishment with a sophisticated design and unusual atmosphere, is anticipating your arrival. Allow yourself to be utterly enchanted by the ambience and the location – on a stunning bay with crystal-clear water.

Evening dinner will be prepared for you at the Lanterna Restaurant on the island of St. Andrews. The boat trip there will provide ample opportunity to enjoy views of Rovinj's archipelago. At dusk the sky's fascinating colour display provides a spectacular backdrop – it marks the start of a wonderful evening.

Day 3
Rovinj – Livade – Opatija

On day 3 your route takes you through the lush green Istrian countryside that strongly resembles Tuscany. The region is especially renowned for specialities such as wine, olive oil and truffles – and for something else besides: its twisting mountain roads, sections of which are used for rally racing. Savour the lovely drive through Istria's rolling hills to Livade, interrupted by an intermediate stop in the idyllic town of Groznjan. Upon your arrival in Livade, you will be invited to an olive oil sampling followed by a truffle menu at the famous Restaurant Zigante. Mr Zigante once found the largest truffle in the world, which weighed in at 1.3 kilogrammes – a find that established Livade's reputation as the truffle capital of the world. The next leg of the tour takes you back to the coast to Opatija over small winding roads past scenic vineyards and olive groves. The fashionable bathing resort on the Kvarn Bay in north-western Croatia is sometimes called the Adriatic's Nice. The resort is characterised by opulent grand hotels, villas, bathing facilities and expansive parks.

Your night's accommodation is the Hotel Milenij, where you can also enjoy your dinner at the hotel's Trattoria St. Jakob. The refined setting is the perfect place to relax and review the day's events.

Day 4
Opatija – Pag Island – Zadar

Back in the driver’s seat again, you will spend the morning heading to the eastern coast along small country roads and then on the coastal road. This drive is a real treat for any Porsche fan because of the breathtaking views of the Adriatic's turquoise water from a vantage point atop plunging cliffs. Today's lunch will be served at the Boskinac hotel restaurant on Pag Island followed by a scenic drive along the coast to your hotel for the night – Hotel Bastion in Zadar.

Day 5
Zadar – Krka National Park – Hvar

This leg of the trip takes you past the Krka waterfalls located in Krka National Park. After a delightful lunch at the famous Bibich Vineyards, it's back behind the wheel for the drive to Split and the subsequent ferry ride to Hvar Island. Weather permitting, a thrilling speed boat ride around the island is planned for you. The day comes to a relaxing conclusion over dinner in the Old Town and a good night's rest at the Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel.

Day 6
Hvar – Mali Ston – Dubrovnik

After breakfast it's time to head back to the mainland. An absolute must on the drive to Dubrovnik is a stop at the fishing village of Mali Ston to feast on fresh oysters – an opportunity too good to miss. Lunch at the Bota Sare Restaurant provides the perfect spot for oyster lovers to do just that. Your journey then continues on to Dubrovnik, where the evening starts off with an aperitif on the deck of a boat. Dinner in Dubrovink's Old Town will soon reveal why UNESCO designated the city in the south of Croatia a World Heritage Site. The day ends at your accommodation for the night – the Hotel Villa Dubrovnik.

Day 7

Even the most wonderful trip has to end sometime, and so, regretfully, it's time to say goodbye. After breakfast you will be provided with transport to the Dubrovnik airport in good time for your departure.
