Porsche Tour of Barcelona/the Pyrenees

There are many stories about the Pyrenees.
But each curve also has its very own tale to tell.

Tour highlights

  • The challenging drive over mountain passes in the Spanish and French Pyrenees up to the 2,115-metre-high Col du Tourmalet
  • The buzzing city of Barcelona
  • Enjoy local specialities at an old Spanish farmhouse and a French country house

The Pyrenees stretch for around 430 km from the Bay of Biscay on the Atlantic coast in the west to the Cap de Creus on the Mediterranean in the east. With their numerous forests, waterfalls and mountain lakes, they form a natural border between France and Spain.

But it is certainly not an impassable one. Steep mountain roads, long-stretching serpentines and tight bends snake their way through the entire mountain range, making it perfect for an exhilarating driving experience – behind the wheel of a Porsche.

Day 2

Today’s itinerary can be easily summed up in a few words: driving a Porsche. Straight after breakfast, you complete a short stretch on the motorway before setting off along the spectacular coastal road, heading north-west towards the Pyrenees. Stop for lunch at the Mas Vinyals Restaurant, a typical Catalan farmhouse with a history stretching back over several centuries. The tour then continues through Ripoll, Ribes de Freser and the mountains to Puigcerdà and your next port of call: the 5-Star Villa Paulita. In the evening, relax over dinner at the hotel’s gourmet restaurant and enjoy the magnificent views of the lake.

Day 3

The route on the third day is a true delight for any sports car enthusiast. The roads get narrower, the bends tighter and the straights shorter. The ideal conditions, therefore, for unlimited driving pleasure at the wheel of a Porsche. Towards lunchtime, you will pass by several magnificent mountain lakes before arriving at your destination for the night: the 5-Star Barceló Monasterio de Boltaña Hotel set in a 17th century monastery.

Day 4

Today’s leg of the tour focuses on three things: curves, curves and more curves. There are also plenty of spectacular views to enjoy along the way, as you cross the French border and head for Lourdes. Break for lunch at a quaint little country house before setting off along the 2,115-metrehigh Col du Tourmalet. This is the highest mountain pass in the French Pyrenees and – for any cycling fans among you – the most frequently crossed pass in the Tour de France. The route continues back over the border into Spain. After a long day of intensive driving, you can relax at the Casa Irene Hotel in Arties.

Day 5

On the final day, you get to experience the unforgettable feeling of driving a Porsche once more. Follow the winding mountain roads to Peramola, stopping for lunch at the Can Boix Restaurant. Marvel one more time at the spectacular views of the Pyrenees, before setting off on the final leg back to Barcelona where you spend your last night at the Hotel Arts Barcelona.
