The 2011/2012 race calendar comprises 12 championship rounds within six race weekends. The season got underway with two rounds at Dubai Autodrome, leading quickly into Rounds 3-4 taking place as part of the official race support programme for the 2011 Formula 1TM Etihad Airways Abu Grand Prix.
The next four double race weekends are shared between Abu Dhabi, Reem International Circuit, outside Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain International Circuit, with the promise of more classic Porsche one-make series race action.
For each event two practice sessions of 30 minutes each are planned. Two 30 minute qualifying sessions determine the starting grid of the two separate sprint races. The two 40-60 km sprint races will be run on two consecutive days.
Each round begins with a standing start.
