A special Porsche driving experience for children in BahrainBahraini children test their driving skills behind the wheel of Porsche 911 pedal cars
Bahrain. The first round of Porsche Michelin Supercup held during the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2006, was supported by Porsche Middle East & Africa, which staged “Porsche Children's Driving School” in the F1 Village. For three exciting days, more than 400 children aged between 3 and 10 drove 15 Porsche 911 pedal cars around a mini road-track setup, after being briefed about the basic traffic rules and signs. The setup included operating traffic lights, road signs and pedestrian crossings. The aim of the free activity was to create awareness about road safety amongst children in the region and provide an exciting 'Porsche experience' for children during the Formula 1 event. At the end, all cars were donated to the Ministry of Education for further educational use at various schools in Bahrain.
After the session, all kids received a “Porsche Driving License” with their picture taken and inserted in it. There were lots of happy and extremely proud little faces!
