DHL flies Porsche cars worth US $480,000 to Bahrain
21 January 2005: DHL, the Middle East’s leading logistic solutions provider, partnered with Porsche Middle East to fly two demonstration cars from Dubai to Bahrain, a Carrera GT, the 612 BHP ultimate Porsche supercar, and a model of the recently launched 911 Carrera S.
As part of Porsche Middle East’s driving experience programme the US $480,000 valued cars, were loaded on to DHL’s Boeing 727 on October 11th 2004. Once arrived in Manama both cars were brought to the Bahrain International Circuit for an exclusive driving event gathering more than 50 enthusiastic Porsche customers.
In order to effectively carry out the project, DHL had to ensure the safety of the cars, plan a route, prepare the necessary export documents, and appoint a dedicated team of experts.
