January 30, 2005: Over the past calendar year, Porsche has sold more cars in the Middle East than ever before in the history of the company. A total of 2,709 cars were delivered to customers in the Middle East, compared with 1,832 units the year before; an impressive 48 percent increase. Besides the Cayenne’s contribution to this growth, the sports car sales also increased year on year and further enhanced with the introduction of the new 911 Carrera Coupé in September.
The last month of 2004 came to a successful conclusion for Porsche. December recorded the best ever selling month in the history of Porsche Middle East & Africa FZE. Sales of cars amounted to 350 units, a substantial 80 percent increase compared with the same month of the previous year.
The new sports car generations and model range will lend positive impetus to Porsche's core business over the year to come in the Middle East. The addition of the new Boxster, which arrived in the Middle East in December 2004, will boost sports car sales in the region along with the introduction of the new 911 Carrera Cabriolet which was recently shown at the Detroit Motor Show . Both versions of this convertible sports car, the Carrera and Carrera S, will be available at Porsches Centres early April 2005.
