The centrepiece of the Porsche brand is turning 50. Which is a good reason for us to pay tribute to a great idea - with the 911 50th anniversary edition. Its production run will be strictly limited to 1963 seventh-generation vehicles, the likes of which will never be seen again.
None of the 911 generations have a conventional front radiator grille. Instead they have air intakes, which characterise the face of a 911. The air intake slats of the anniversary edition are also accented with chrome.

The wings, which Ferry Porsche referred to as fins, enhance the front outline, and mean that generations of 911 drivers have been able to enjoy the vehicle's exterior shape even when sitting inside. They may appear to be only a detail, but they are of fundamental importance for the design: the round headlights. They are what make the 911 the 911.
Another characteristic design feature of the 911 is its rear. Or to be more precise: its rear lid grille. It points clearly to the location of the engine in the 911: at the rear.
The rear lid grille is painted in black and accented with chrome. The chrome-plated trim between the tail lights is further evidence of its loyalty to the first generation. High-quality features which serve as a stylistic bridge - to the first 911 of 1963.
The design language of the wide rear is yet another speciality of the 911. Deep, wide, flat - a thoroughbred Sports Car with rear wheel drive. We've placed an even greater emphasis on the rear of the 911 50th anniversary edition - with the 44 mm wider body of the 911 Carrera 4, for even better road holding.
What is possibly the most emotional design detail of the anniversary model is small but striking: the "911 50" logo on the rear. It takes its inspiration from the famous typography of the early 911 models.
A clear roofline which drops dynamically to the rear - our designers call it the flyline - is a characteristic feature of the 911. These quintessential contours have also influenced the shape of the side windows. The edging of the window areas in the 911 50th anniversary edition is in anodised aluminium, as a reminder of the original 911. The Sport Classic wheel with a Fuchs rim design
The Fuchs rim was first seen on the road in 1966 on the Porsche 911 S, and was in standard production until 1989. It went without saying that the developers of the 911 50th anniversary edition would incorporate this icon into a model which combines tradition and future. With a classic design, but a technologically modern interpretation.

Even the first 911 had 5 dial-type instruments and a centrally positioned rev counter. The ignition lock was left of the steering wheel, just as it is now - as a tribute to the Le Mans start, where drivers had to sprint to their vehicle and found it quicker to use a left-hand ignition.
Until 1967, the digits and increment markings on the black instruments were green and the pointers were white. For excellent readability and high functionality. They are the same colour in the anniversary edition, as a subtle but striking design reference, which is also present in the Sport Chrono clock which forms part of the optional Sport Chrono package.
“911 50” logo
The "911 50“ logo on the black rev counter is a reference to the identity of the anniversary edition.
An equipment feature which is also obvious when entering the vehicle: the logo is also shown in two colours on the door entry guards. The door and dashboard trims are in brushed aluminium. A badge above the glove box shows your individual limited-edition number as well as the anniversary edition logo. Making you part of 911 history.
A small but choice detail which is visible when you get into the car: the “911 50” logo embroidered in three colours on the headrests.
The interior materials of the 911 50th anniversary edition are dominated by leather and aluminium. The Classic interior finish is available in Agate Grey/Geyser Grey or in Black/Dark Silver. The front and rear seat centres are a particular highlight. They feature the material and pattern which set the style of the first 911 models: the "houndstooth" pattern - a fabric woven with a small checked pattern in two colours. With a classic look, but a timeless appearance in the context of the modern interior. The seat bolsters have decorative seams in a contrasting colour - in Geyser Grey or Dark Silver. The seams can also be seen on the switch panel upper part and the trims of the doors and rear side panels, as well as on the SportDesign steering wheel and the floor mats.
Fully electric sports seats with 14-way adjustment are standard. Adaptive Sport seats Plus, which can be optimally adjusted to your requirements thanks to the electrical 18-way adjustment, are available as an optional extra. Seat heating is available for both seats upon request.
The rear of the 911 50th anniversary edition is 44 mm wider again than the 911 Carrera S, which improves road grip. And stability. In every curve. Our engineers have lengthened the wheelbase of the youngest 911 generation by 100 mm. This in turn guarantees greater traction and driving stability, particularly at high speeds and when driving quickly through bends.

With its 3.8-litre displacement, the 6-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection (DFI) and VarioCam Plus delivers 294 kW (400 hp) at 7,400 rpm. And achieves a maximum torque of 440 Nm at 5,600 rpm. A sports exhaust system featuring distinctive polished stainless-steel tailpipes is standard for the anniversary edition.

Standard efficiency-enhancing technologies such as the Auto Start Stop function, intelligent thermal management and vehicle electrical system recuperation also form an integral part of the vehicle concept for the anniversary edition. In conjunction with the optional PDK, comparatively low fuel consumption values of 8.7 l/100 km are therefore possible.
The 911 50th anniversary edition has the sporty performance potential of the 911 Carrera S model. And the relevant brake system safety reserves. With 6-piston aluminium monobloc fixed callipers in red at the front and 4-piston aluminium monobloc fixed callipers at the rear. For high braking performance and stability.
In addition to large-capacity airbags for the driver and front passenger, the Porsche Side Impact Protection System (POSIP) is also fitted in the 911 50th anniversary edition.
Bi-Xenon headlights with a headlight washer system and dynamic headlight levelling are standard. The front light modules contain the LED direction indicators, daytime running lights and positioning lights. The Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) is also standard in the anniversary edition. Its dynamic cornering light swivels the headlights into the bend, depending on the steering angle and vehicle speed.
