The best protection against icy temperatures?
A good covering of snow, of course.
Many people associate snow and ice with winter sports. The Porsche Driving Experience is no exception. And there’s no better location for winter driver training than the Arctic Circle, or more precisely Camp4 at the Arctic Driving Center in the Finnish town of Rovaniemi.
At the test facility, you’ll practise driving safely on snow and ice under controlled conditions. You will learn how to brake effectively and change direction accurately, for instance. The course will also enable you to explore – and drive within – the limits of your car. During the theory briefing, you will learn about various driving styles, followed by the opportunity to try these out for yourself.
Individual travel to Rovaniemi airport. Check in at the Sokos Hotel Vaakuna where you will be greeted by the Porsche team. Enjoy a welcome drink and then relax over dinner.
After a detailed briefing, you set off for your first day of training at the Arctic Driving Center. Under controlled conditions, the Porsche instructors will teach you the basics of safety-conscious driving and driving dynamics. At the end of the day, you also travel to dinner in true sporting style: on a snowmobile.
Life is a learning curve. This also applies to improving your driving skills in a Porsche. So, after breakfast at the hotel, you set off for another day of training at the Arctic Driving Center. In the evening, the challenge continues: try handling some of the vehicles typically used in Lapland, such as snowmobiles and ice karts, at our ‘Winter Olympics’ before savouring dinner in a traditional Finnish log cabin.
Spend the whole day at the Arctic Driving Center, putting into practice what you have learned on the previous days. At the end of a long day, say farewell to the Camp4 crew over a well-earned dinner.
In the morning, it’s unfortunately time to pack your suitcases before transfer to the airport for individual departure.
