The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia offers drivers and teams 2 races as support to Formula 1. The season-opener at the Grand Prix of China takes place on 17 April on the Shanghai International Circuit. The second race alongside Formula 1 takes off on 25 September in Singapore. A total of eleven rounds make up the calendar.
After a 2-year break, the Carrera Cup Australia is back. The race series with the new 911 GT3 Cup will again be a popular racing fixture ‘down under’. With 7 race weekends on the calendar, the eagerly awaited comeback season takes off on 27 March as a curtain-raiser to the Australian Grand Prix and concludes in December in Sydney’s Olympic Park.
The most established of all Porsche brand trophy series again runs as support to the German Touring Car Masters (DTM). On the calendar are 9 races run over 80 kilometres or a maximum of 35 minutes. 2011 Season highlight is the Porsche Carrera World Cup. The Carrera Cup Deutschland has established itself as a top-class, professional race series and an excellent school for youngsters in German motorsport.
The latest 911 GT3 Cup is not the only new feature on the Carrera Cup France calendar. On 25 June competitors will also contest the Carrera World Cup on the Nürburgring. 6 further rounds with 12 races make up the calendar. The season takes off, on 2 April in Le Castellet and ends on 16 October on the Grand Prix circuit in Magny-Cours.
Notching up 35 victories and 105 podium results from 144 races, Tim Harvey is the undisputed master of the Carrera Cup Great Britain. At 19 races, including the Porsche Carrera World Cup on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, he aims to defend his title this season. The season begins on 3 April in Brands Hatch.
Drivers and teams contesting the Carrera Cup Italia kick off the season in Imola as support to the International GT Open. 7 rounds with a total of 13 races make up the calendar. Another highlight aside from the guest appearance at the premiere of the Porsche Carrera World Cup on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife is the night race in Misano.
The Carrera Cup Japan is regarded as one of the top motorsport series in the region. Its popularity is particularly underlined by its traditional guest appearance as support to the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka. Like in the past, 2 classes are contested: The professionals compete in the Champion Class, with ambitious amateur race drivers fighting for honours in the Gentlemen Class.
In the Carrera Cup Scandinavia there are again 2 separate classifications this season. Class A is reserved for the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Class B is open to cars from 2005 to 2009 model years. The season takes off on 23 April on the Jyllandsringen, concludes in Mantorp Park on 24 September and comprises 8 events including the Porsche Carrera World Cup on the Nürburgring.
