With the Porsche Cup, Porsche honours the most successful private Porsche drivers of every season. Based on an idea of Ferry Porsche himself, the Porsche Cup is assigned already since 1970. Porsche pays more than 250.000 Euros a year to the most successful pilots. A customer sports promotion almost one-of-a-kind worldwide.
Every national and international private Porsche race driver possessing of race results achieved on a car produced by Porsche may participate in the search for the most successful privateer. Valued are all international and national championships in which Porsche race cars are involved, like the FIA GT championship, the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), the Le Mans Series (LMS) the Grand American Road Racing championship (GrandAm) as well as the Le Mans and Daytona 24 Hours and national GT championships.
The Porsche Cup is a challenge cup, remaining in the properties of a race drivers after a three time victory. It is allocated at the end of the season at the occasion of the Porsche Cup party.
With the Porsche Cup, Porsche supports private customer sports and promotes ambition and professionalism of many teams and drivers. The winner list comprises famous names like Bob Wollek, Klaus Ludwig and Bernd Schneider thus being a testimony for racing talent and a reference for the motor sports career.
