Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2014
Round 2: 22.-25.05.2014 - FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DE MONACO 2014, Monte Carlo

The circuit

The gearing and the axle drive must not be changed over the whole Supercup season. The narrow corners of Mirabeau and Portier, the harbour chicane and Rascasse pose a dilemma for drivers: first gear with plenty of torque but the danger of understeer? Or second gear for a smooth ride but without the extreme torque boost?

The circuit has basically remained the same since 1993, but the Cup-911 has gained significant power. In ’93 with 275 hp, Mika Häkkinen clinched pole with a time of 1:49.502 min. In 2011, René Rast was the fastest with 1:35.734 min. and 450 horsepower.
