Vehicles
Can I pick out a car for myself?
On our trips, you can drive a Boxster, Cayman, 911, Cayenne or Panamera. Our sports cars are equipped with the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), while the Cayenne features a Porsche Tiptronic automatic transmission. On certain occasions, you can request a specific model, e.g. a cabriolet or a coupé. We try to accommodate all requests but please note that we only have limited vehicle availability.
Can I swap vehicles during the trip?
Yes, this is possible to a degree. If you speak to your trip guide in the evening, he will be able to arrange this for the following day.
How high is the retention in the case of insurance claims?
Before setting off, you are required to sign a contract of loan for use. The retention for our vehicles currently stands at 2500 euros for all trips which start in Ludwigsburg. In exceptional cases, a different retention can be declared.
Is smoking in the car permitted?
No, our vehicles are no-smoking vehicles. We ensure adequate breaks during the trip, however.
Can I hire a vehicle from you that is not going to be used for a Travel Club event?
No, we regret that this is not possible. Please contact the usual car hire companies.
Is it also possible for me to use my own Porsche?
Unfortunately it is not possible to participate with an own car on a Porsche Travel Club tour.
Arrival
How do I get to Ludwigsburg, Leipzig or Zuffenhausen?

Itinerary
What form does a "guided trip" take?
Your trip guide heads a convoy of around 5 vehicles, guiding them safely to the destination. He knows the area well and shows you the most attractive stretches.
Can I drive on my own, instead of in the convoy?
No. One of the special features of Porsche Travel Club trips is driving in a convoy. Our trip guides know the best routes and guide you safely to your destination. This saves you any inconvenience in the form of map reading or diversions, for example.
Are there motorway stretches, too?
Yes, nearly every trip involves one or two stretches on the motorway, whereby we choose a good combination of attractive country roads and motorway stretches in order to provide you with a good all-round impression of the vehicle.
Roughly how many kilometres are covered each day; when do we arrive at the hotel?
The distances covered depend on the trip concerned. We usually aim to arrive at the hotel at 5 p.m., so as to leave you adequate time before the evening meal.
Can customers determine the route themselves in the case of incentive trips?
Incentive customers can, of course, influence the route to be taken on the trip. We will endeavour to realise your wishes. The Porsche Travel Club will be pleased to advise you in this connection.
Before the start of the trip
Do you have hotel tips for a stay in Ludwigsburg or Stuttgart on the night before the trip?
We will be pleased to arrange accommodation for you before and/or after your trip. We can contact various hotels in the surrounding areas, according to your wishes. Please let us know your requirements.
What luggage shall I take with me?
Ideally soft bags made of fabric or plastic. Please avoid hard-sided cases.
What kind of clothes should I bring?
Bring comfortable clothing. The dress code for dinner is business casual. Don’t forget to pack comfortable, flat shoes. Flip-flops and open shoes are generally not recommended for driving.
Where can I leave my (overseas) luggage?
You can leave the luggage which you do not require for our trip at the hotel, if you book accommodation for the night before the trip. Should you have any further queries, please contact us.
Registration
Is the Porsche Travel Club a closed club?
No, the Porsche Travel Club is not a members-only club in the conventional sense. It is open to anyone (whether or not they drive a Porsche) and stands for driving experiences of the very highest standard.
Does "Minimum number of participants 10 persons" mean that I have to register 10 people?
No, this just means that the trip can take place provided that a minimum of 10 people register. We will notify you in good time if the trip cannot go ahead (see travel conditions for further information).
What is the maximum number of participants for the trips?
The maximum number of participants varies in each individual case. Please contact us if you require this information.
Is it possible to book a different date to the dates specified for the trip?
Groups can set the date for the trip themselves, provided that sufficient vehicles are available. Please let us know your requirements. We regret that we are unable to offer any special dates for individual customers.
