This racetrack, built in 1948, is located directly on the North Sea coast and runs straight through the dune landscape. The original racetrack is mainly characterised by fast corners and a hairpin bend right after the start/finish line. The attractive new section added to the course during reconstruction in 1998 features humps and dips as well as slightly curving straights. Zandvoort is an extremely demanding circuit with fast combinations of bends and tight, sometimes blind corners. Correct and gentle braking as well as sensitive cornering are primarily called for on the uphill and downhill sections.
