The Cayenne S has a naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V8 engine with direct fuel injection (DFI), VarioCam Plus and a two-stage intake manifold. The unit generates 294 kW (400 hp) at 6,500 rpm. Maximum torque of 500 Nm is available between 3,500 and 5,000 rpm.

Fitted with eight-speed Tiptronic S as standard, the car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Top speed is 258 km/h, while fuel consumption has been reduced by 23%.*
