We have certainly kept to that rule, as the six-speed manual gearbox in the new 911 GT3 has been designed especially for the high demands of motorsport. This lightweight gearbox is highly efficient and the gear-lever throw is short and precise, enabling fast and accurate gearshifts. In conjunction with the friction optimized and lighter dual-mass fly-wheel, the gearbox provides an extremely high level of precision and capacity.

The gear ratios are perfectly matched to the 3.8-liter engine to enable even more dynamic power development.

Robust steel heat-resistant baulk rings on gears three to five ensure a precise gearshift action even under extreme loads. Cooling is provided by an additional oil to water heat exchanger and spray lubrication. Both of these features are essential for durability in endurance racing conditions.
