The message is clear and unmistakable: force, power and dynamics. With direct fuel injection (DFI) and VarioCam Plus, the uprated 3.8-litre six-cylinder rear engine of the 911 Carrera GTS models generates 300 kW (408 hp) at 7,300 rpm. Maximum torque is 420 Nm.

A top speed of 190 mph (306 km/h) is achieved by the rear-wheel models and 188 mph (302 km/h) by the models with all-wheel drive. The Coupé models accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds, the Cabriolet models in 4.8. The optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) further improves acceleration, reducing these times to 4.4 and 4.6 seconds respectively. The throttle re-sponse is more direct and acceleration is sportier. The engine power is 17 kW (23 hp) higher than that of the 911 Carrera S models. This was made possible by the redesigned intake manifold, the modified cylinder heads and the optimised engine electronics.

911 Carrera GTS models: fuel consumption in l/100 km (mpg) urban 16.8 (16.8) – 15.3 (18.5) · extra urban 8.0 (35.3) – 7.2 (39.2) · combined 11.2 (25.2) – 10.2 (27.7); CO2 emissions 263 – 240 g/km
