Germany’s largest island, Rügen is known for its majestic chalk cliffs along the Baltic coastline. The region offers a wealth of contrasts: tranquil bays, fine sandy beaches, chic resorts, magnificent tree-lined avenues, and verdant forests that give way to stark heathland. Explore the countryside in a car that is also full of contrasts. Experience the seamless combination of performance and practicality, form and function of a Porsche – the ideal way to explore the Baltic coast and one of its most traditional and beautiful resorts – Binz.
The tour starts at the Grand Elysee Hotel in Hamburg. Set off in a Porsche along the motorway towards the Baltic coast. Stop off in the little fishing village of Ahrenshoop for lunch and admire the wonderful sea views. From here, it’s just a short drive to the Baltic resort of Binz and your destination for the night, the Kurhaus Binz. In the evening, take a trip on the ‘Racing Roland’ narrow-gauge steam railway to the Baltic resort of Sellin where you can enjoy culinary highlights and ocean views on the famous pier.
Kurhaus Binz on the island of RügenEnjoy breakfast at the hotel with panoramic views, before taking to the wheel of a Porsche to explore some of the region’s main attractions, including Putbus with its neo-classical architecture. Stop for lunch at a romantic restaurant situated on top of the forested chalk cliffs overlooking the turquoise Baltic Sea – right next to Jasmund National Park and the famous Königstuhl peak. Travel to Sassnitz, where you briefly step out of your Porsche to board a cutter for a tour of Rügen’s most famous landmark, the dazzling white chalk cliffs along the coast of the Jasmund peninsula. In the evening, relax over a gourmet dinner in a splendid setting at the Kurhaus Binz.
Set off for the return journey through the Mecklenburg lakeland area, breaking for lunch along the way at the idyllic ‘Ich weiß ein Haus am See’ gourmet restaurant. Arrival in Hamburg followed by individual departure.
