The 2009 FIA GT racing calendar comprises eight races on interesting European race tracks. Seven of these races run for two hours. The 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps is the annual highlight of the FIA GT championship.
Race cars modified for motor sport and near-series race cars alike compete in the GT1 and GT2 classes in the FIA GT championship. The races feature dramatic pit stops, driver changes and clever racing strategies. Repeated overtaking manoeuvres are virtually guaranteed because different classes participate in the same race.
The near-series GT2-class in the international FIA GT championship is a domain of Porsche customers with their 911 GT3 RSR vehicles.
In 2009, the Porsche works driver Emmanuel Collard and the two Porsche junior drivers Martin Ragginger and Marco Holzer supported the Porsche customer teams Prospeed Competition and Brixia Racing. Here too, Porsche offers extensive customer motor sport service - through enhancement of the vehicles, technical service on location and comprehensive parts management.
