Anyone travelling off road in their car ought to know what they are doing. Or at least have a shovel in the back. Make sure you are prepared for all eventualities by completing one of our off-road training courses in a Cayenne.

The training focuses on the basics. The theory session deals with topics such as the optimum seat position, correct steering and various external influences. The practical session teaches you how to handle ascents, descents and lateral gradients, as well as the correct use of technology when driving off road.

Our instructors are on hand at all times to answer any questions you may have. All you have to do is choose a location. How about Porsche Leipzig? Set in grounds covering 100 hectares, its 6-km (3.7-mile) off-road circuit is a spectacular training venue.

Set amidst an unspoilt natural haven, eighteen training modules simulate scenarios you are likely to encounter when negotiating off-road terrain. Here, you’ll find tree trunks to drive over, walls and bunker crossings, as well as an extreme ramp with a 60% gradient. You can test your nerves on a slanting section with a 35-degree incline. And if that’s not enough, you can look forward to tackling a wading trough, a corduroy road, a pothole track, sand and gravel tracks and a 50-metre water ditch.

With its large off-road circuit, adjacent FIA-compliant test track and the complete range of services offered by the Customer Centre, Porsche Leipzig also provides the ideal platform for a variety of events.

Learning goals:	Has Precision training improved your confidence behind the wheel and given you a new sense of adventure? Now it’s time to face some even greater challenges on even more demanding off-roadsections. Enjoy a training course organised in cooperation with the Porsche Travel Club in the largely unspoilt landscapes of Dubai. Soak up the mystical atmosphere of the desert, while learning how to perfect your driving in the dunes.
	The course begins with a driver briefing in which our instructorsexplain how to use a range of electronic and mechanical aids and how to steer accurately off-road. You will then be given a practical demonstration in the Cayenne before taking to the wheel yourself. Out on the impressive dunes, you’ll discover that it takes a great deal of concentration to avoid getting stuck in the soft sand. Otherwise, it’s time to get digging.
	Dealing with emergency situationsis certainly an important part of the course. Out in these remote locations, you simply cannot rely on someone else coming to your aid. Under the safest conditions, our instructors will show you how to free a vehicle that has become stuck. You will also learn how to get your bearings in this landscape where everything looks the same. But, as always, the main aim of the course is to develop your driving skills. A huge amount of practice is necessary before a driver instinctively feels how to drive safely off-road. This is why you spend as much time as possible behind the wheel.
	In addition to specially designed off-road sections and anextensive supporting programme, Performance training also offers you the chance to put the Cayenne through its paces on the track.
