Techno Classica confirms its status as world's leading international trade fair
The 22nd Techno Classica in Essen has again achieved a new record. With approximately 1,100 exhibitors and 172,800 visitors, the exhibition this year again confirmed its status as worldwide leading trade fair for the classic sector.
At the trade fair, Porsche Classic presented its comprehensive range of services in the areas of repair, maintenance, care, restoration and the supply of genuine parts for all model lines of Porsche classic cars. The expert advice provided by the Porsche Classic specialists on all issues of restoration and the availability of genuine parts, new-editions of parts and technical literature for Porsche classic cars formed a central contact point at the 800 m² Porsche stand in exhibition hall 3. Of course, the Porsche Classic experts were always on hand to support visitors with competent advice, with regard to the maintenance and service of their historic vehicles.
In addition to the Customer Center Classic, was the new 16.5 metre long sales truck for the Porsche Driver's Selection, offering the latest accessories for Porsche enthusiasts in numerous showcases and displays. And of course, the Porsche Exclusive & Tequipment team was not to be missed. Their competent consulting on the topic of "Personalisation of Porsche vehicles" was again met with a lively response from customers and prospects.
A very special highlight was the autograph session with Hans Herrmann at the Porsche stand. The first ever overall victory for Porsche in the Le Mans 24 Hours race in 1970 by Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood was a very special highlight in Porsche’s history. For the 40th anniversary of this magical Porsche motor sports moment, the Porsche museum has sent the winning vehicle, the legendary 917 KH with the starting number 23, to the Techno Classica. When the dust of the 24 hour marathon had settled, a distance of 4,607.81 kilometres covered at an average speed of 191.992 kph was found to be the key to their success and the basis for 15 further Le Mans overall victories for the legendary sports cars from Zuffenhausen.
A member of staff from the Porsche Museum was also available to answer questions from the visitors regarding the current exhibits and the exceptional architecture.
