The interior of the body begins to take on concrete form on installation of the interior equipment and features. The panelling and the high-quality carpeting are fitted in the interior, the windows are prepared and fitted.

A fully automatic window robot ensures precision fitting of the front and rear windscreens. The robot enables glazing to be carried out to a tolerance of around 0.5 mm. To attain such accuracy, the vehicles have to be stopped for the purpose of fitting the windows. The skid platforms are thus accelerated before the window assembly station, thus providing a little time in reserve at the station.

This time window is sufficient for the robot to carry out all the necessary assembly steps. The robot first checks which model is in place and then loads the corresponding software. In this way, all Porsche model variants from Porsche Boxster through Boxster S and Carrera Coupé to Cabriolet are able to pass through the window assembly station without any delay whatsoever.

As work on the interior equipment and fittings progresses, installation and programming of a number of electronic control units proceeds in parallel on the second floor. The vehicles are then lowered to the first floor to complete the interiors.
