For the operations performed in this area the bodies are raised and conveyed by means of a suspended conveyor belt. This enables work to be carried out in the underbody area, e.g. fitting of wiring and piping, radiators or tanks.

Engine, transmission and axles are assembled on a synchronous oval belt and inserted into the body in a single operation by means of an elevating platform. Here too, numerous customer-specific variants are installed, e.g. all-wheel drive, sports chassis or ceramic brakes. The subsequent step whereby the drivetrain and chassis are bolted to the body is referred to as the "marriage".

After fitting other add-on parts and the wheels, the vehicle is stood on its wheels for the first time.
