Barely any two Porsches are identical. The extremely flexible vehicle assembly operations reflect the vehicles' pronounced degree of individualisation All variants of the Boxster and 911 are assembled according to the model mix system on the continuously running assembly line.

The assemblies for the specific vehicles are delivered to the respective assembly stations just in time by means of the driverless transport system. This largely avoids the storage of components on the shop floor. Only through this system are the millions of different equipment variants feasible in the assembly department.
