Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG of Stuttgart and its employee representatives are donating 100,000 Euros to the victims of the flood catastrophe in Pakistan. Around 20 million people are affected by the floods. In order to help them, Porsche will deposit the funds in an account set up specifically for that purpose with the Bank für Sozialwirtschaft in Cologne. Contributions will then be transferred from the account to the German Red Cross (DRK).
Michael Macht, Chairman of the Board of Management of Porsche AG said: "The effects of the flood are catastrophic for the region. As a globally-active company it is important to us to assume responsibility in the affected areas. With our efforts, we are helping ease the hardships of the victims in Pakistan.”
Uwe Hück, Chairman of the group works council: “The victims of the flood catastrophe in Pakistan need quick and effective assistance. The shocking images from the flooded areas have touched our colleagues very deeply. With our donation we are assuming social responsibility. International solidarity means: Whoever has, gives."
