Built in Zuffenhausen - Construction and architecture of the Porsche museum
The Porsche museum is one of the world`s most spectacular automobile museum – located directly next to the headquarter of Porsche AG in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. The building is a bold statement. Supported on just three V-shaped columns, the museum`s dominant main structure seems to float above the ground like a monolith.
With this special exhibition the Porsche museum itself presents how it was being built and emphasizes the challenges during its construction. Samples of different materials which have been used will be presented. Small exhibits and drawings will describe how the museum was being built. Furthermore competition models from other architect offices will be shown.
The Porsche Museum is using the special exhibition as an opportunity to extend its tour programme. At 3 p.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays, the visitor has the opportunity to experience the special exhibition in the course of a one hour themed tour at a price of four euro per person.
