Explore the conservation areas around Leipzig and Dresden.
In another rare species.
Tour highlights
- The drive through the Elbe Sandstone Massif along the German Avenues Route and Saxon Wine Route
- Spend the afternoon as you please, e.g. visiting famous buildings such as Dresden’s Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) or the Semper Opera House
- A tour of the Porschefactory in Leipzig
The Saxon Switzerland region is famous for its extensive conservation areas which provide a habitat for a number of rare species. It’s no wonder, therefore, that we were drawn to this part of Germany. With their historical buildings, the cities of Leipzig and Dresden also offer a fascinating insight into German history. What better way to explore them than in a fine example of German automotive history: a Porsche.
Your tour begins in Leipzig – our second home, so to speak. The first attraction: a tour of our factory. Accompany the Panamera and Cayenne as they make their way through the production halls and on to their new habitat: the road. Then it’s time for you to take to the wheel yourself.
You set off along the German Avenues Route and Saxon Wine Route through the charming Elbe valley to the 1,000-year-old town of Meißen, home to one of the world’s most famous porcelain factories.
Stop for lunch before continuing along the River Elbe to Dresden. Relax in the extremely well appointed surroundings of the deluxe Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski, which is steeped in tradition. From here, you can explore the city at your leisure. Relax along the picturesque banks of the Elbe or visit famous buildings such as the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) or Zwinger Palace. Depending on the time of your visit, you may even have the opportunity to attend a cultural event at the Semper Opera House. If this is the case, you will have time to enjoy dinner before the performance. Otherwise, the evening is brought to a fitting conclusion with a sumptuous dinner in the stylish Alte Meister restaurant.
Today, you set off on a very special drive towards the Elbe Sandstone Massif, an impressive landscape to the south-east of Dresden through which the River Elbe meanders. In addition to sheer cliffs, unspoilt vantage points and sleepy villages, it also features a number of bends, making it the ideal location for a Porsche driving experience.
Then it’s time for you to enjoy another true culinary highlight. Have a leisurely lunch at Schloss Wackerbarth with spectacular views of the surrounding vineyards, before continuing along the motorway through the wine-growing area near Dresden. Savour every mile in a Porsche on the return journey to Leipzig.
