Porsche Classic comes home at Retro Classics 2011

At this year’s Retro Classics in Stuttgart, Porsche Classic presented its comprehensive range of services in the areas of repair, maintenance, care, restoration and the supply of genuine parts for all model lines of classic Porsche cars worldwide.

Visitor numbers at the Retro Classics event, which is now in its 11th year, were up by ten per cent compared with last year, with around 66,000 Oldtimer enthusiasts in attendance."For us, Retro Classics is an important platform for presenting our range of services and for maintaining customer contacts", says Jochen Bader, manager of the Porsche Classic workshop."It also enables us to demonstrate the tradition of the Porsche brand."

As a special highlight, Porsche Classic presented a partially restored 911 T US Coupé from 1973, alongside which Walter Röhrl posed for photos. The 38-year-old 911 is currently being fully restored in the Porsche Classic workshop and will be raffled among the members of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) in the summer. You can follow the restoration project online on the Classic hompage at www.porsche.com/classic.

The second main focus at the Porsche stand was the anniversary “25 years of Porsche Exclusive”.In 1986, the “Sonderwunschprogramm” (Special Wishes Program) became Porsche Exclusive.A cause for celebration:25 years of making dreams come true. The highest level of personalisation, straight from the factory, began with limited production runs and custom-made products in the early 80s with the Porsche 935 Street, and has continued ever since.Vehicles include the 911 Turbo Slant Nose from 1986, the 911 Turbo S Lightweight from 1992 and the 911 Turbo S from 1997.

Two vehicles from the 25-year history of Porsche Exclusive were on show at the Porsche stand in Hall 3:
- A current 911 Turbo S Coupé with a full range of individual equipment
- A 959 featuring a full leather interior with rootwood appliqués and the family crest of the owner on the steering wheel, gear lever and wheel rims.
