Image Gold Medal: Porsche remains unchallenged at number one after eightyears
Shanghai/Stuttgart/Hamburg. Porsche is the company with the best image in Germany, according to the judgment of 2,500 representative chairmen, managing directors and chief executives. For the fifth time in succession, they voted Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, into first place in a comprehensive cross-branch survey.
Thus, for eight years now, Porsche has remained the undisputed winner of the “Imageprofile” – a widely-respected study compiled every two years by the German publication “Manager-Magazin”. The study was entrusted to the Institute TNS Infratest and BIK Marplan Intermedia. For the first time, as well as investigating general impression, it also researched five image-forming factors: ethical behaviour, innovative strength, customer orientation, management quality, product and service quality.
This year, too, in the magazine’s fifteenth image appraisal, the German automotive industry has defended its places on the winners’ podium. Compared with the last survey, Porsche AG was able to increase its lead once again: in the overall rankings – 152 companies from ten branches of industry – the sports car manufacturer, with 893 points, came first before BMW (853 points) and Audi (850 points). Places four to ten are occupied by Adidas, Google, Miele, Coca-Cola, Deutsche Lufthansa, Hugo Boss and Nokia.
Volkswagen, in which Porsche holds a share of just under 31 per cent, improved its ranking from 76 to 26 and is thus one of the companies with the greatest positive image development over the last two years.
