The heart of Porsche racing beats in the Motorsport Centre at Weissach. Since its completion in the autumn of 2007, this ultra-modern complex featuring aluminium and glass has sent out a strong message: Porsche keeps the revs high in racing.
The sportiness is already apparent upon entering the complex. Tyre stacks and red/white kerbs lend a touch of racing atmosphere. Thanks to the new buildings, which are connected by a transparent roof construction, the Motorsport Centre has doubled its floor space to 12,000 square metres.
The motorsports department are particularly proud of their race car factory. In a building flooded with light, the racing vehicles are built by experienced specialists – totally by hand and totally in the classic style of manufacturing.
And the necessary components are just around the corner, in the process optimised logistics warehouse. There, customers can get everything they need for their race cars. More than 35,000 different parts are stored here, from dust covers to gearboxes. The terminal, where seven race trucks are parked, and the offices for the R&D department as well as administration are just a stone’s throw away from each other.
Flexibility and efficient processes: This was the highest priority for the designers of the Motorsport Centre and has contributed to the rapid development of Porsche Motorsport.
