Travel through mountain passes and enjoy spectacular Alpine-like views. Experience one of the most exhilarating drives through the splendid French countryside in a Porsche sports car, sampling a host of sumptuous regional specialities along the way.
Arrive in Ludwigsburg to collect your Porsche, before setting off along a combination of meandering roads and long open straights towards the Alsace. Stop for lunch in the northern Vosges mountains, before continuing along small, extremely winding roads up to Mont Sainte-Odile (Mount Odilienberg). The first culinary highlight along the way: lunch at the famous Auberge du Cheval Blanc in Lembach is guaranteed to delight your palate.
From here, enjoy breathtaking views of the densely-wooded Vosges mountains and the villages and small towns in the Rhineland Plain, before heading back along the twisting roads to your destination for the night: the charming Hostellerie La Cheneaudière in Colroy-la-Roche. Part of the exclusive Relais & Châteaux group, this luxury resort has welcomed important guests such as the former German Chancellor Willy Brandt.
On day two of the tour, it’s time to explore yet another highlight: the Route du Vin. Next stop is the small town of Ribeauvillé, which could not be more typical of the region. With its romantic half-timbered houses and charming Alsace countryside, it’s the perfect place for a leisurely stroll. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to savour some regional specialities.
Afterwards, the tour continues along a number of incredible panoramic mountain passes. Stop for lunch at the cosy Le Val Joli in the southern Vosges, before heading for Hinterzarten – along the famous Route des Crêtes, with its breathtaking views. Back in Germany, the route takes you along small, winding country roads through the Black Forest. The ideal location to explore the driving dynamics of your Porsche.
Your destination for the night is the five-star Parkhotel Adler in Hinterzarten, which is set in 40,000 m² of private parkland. The grounds feature a number of buildings from various periods which are connected via underground tunnels. The hotel also boasts an impressive 1,200 m2 spa offering everything from massages and a solarium to saunas and a pool with a countercurrent. After a champagne reception, relax over a gourmet dinner and take the opportunity to review the experiences of the day.
On day three, the route continues through the southern Black Forest. Once again, the focus is on maximum enjoyment at the wheel. Stop for lunch at Schloss Haigerloch, followed by the return journey to Ludwigsburg. After the twisting mountain roads of the previous two days, you can now put the Porsche through its paces on a stretch of motorway, before reluctantly departing for home.
